We were looking for a relaxing time in the moutains at Easter with our kids (9 & 12) and picked La Posada Romana mainly because of the indoor pool, given the possibility of poor weather. It’s a wonderful property with simply maginficent views and a very private location. 

The facilities at the house are excellent and it was/is maintained to a very high standard, it feels very relaxing to stay in and we felt at home straight away. 

The owners, Miren and her husband Chris, were very friendly but never intrusive and answered any texts or calls quickly and helpfully whenever we had a question or an issue. They are still adding to the villa with 3 more bedrooms completed but not finished by the pool and a sauna and turkish bath again awaiting finishing out. 

We were a little worried about the road given the other reviews but managed without any problems in a BMW 1-series. A little caution and some experience with farm roads helps but really it wasn’t an issue. 

As for Gaucin itself and the area, this is really a beautiful part of Spain. Don’t expect high end restaurants or bars and be ready for a village that takes siesta VERY serisously and you’ll be fine. A day trip to Ronda is definitely worth it and Marbella is only 60 mins away. 

All in all a lovely time in a lovely house in a lovely area…very happy.
